Sarah James and Paul Mincher from Greenwich City Council have been spending some time formatting their records ready to upload to plings. Along the way they've come across a couple of issues with their data. let me explain.

Start Date and End Date - Both or Not at all Please!

If an event has a fixed term period when it will take place (e.g a playscheme between the 30th of July and 10th of August) you can stipulate this when uploading to FIDy. If a FIDy record has a StartDate and EndDate in the Availability attributes, a PeriodDay and StartTime and EndTime it is converted to a pling by our condition called Anji. It'll look a bit like this:-

<Availability Refines="DC.Coverage">
	<StartDateTime>2010-03-16T00:00:00</StartDateTime>
	<EndDateTime>2010-03-17T00:00:00</EndDateTime>
	<Period Day="Tuesday">
		<StartTime>20:00:00</StartTime>
		<EndTime>22:30:00</EndTime>
	</Period>
	<Details>Tuesday 8pm</Details>
</Availability>

One of the issues that arose was that Greenwich's records often had a StartDateTime but no EndDateTime.

<Availability Refines="DC.Coverage">
	<StartDateTime>2010-03-16T00:00:00</StartDateTime>
	<Period Day="Tuesday">
		<StartTime>20:00:00</StartTime>
		<EndTime>22:30:00</EndTime>
	</Period>
	<Details>Tuesday 8pm</Details>
</Availability>

The pling-o-matic has no way of processing records like this. To meet the requirements for Anji records need to have both a StartDateTime and EndDateTime. If you don't know the StartDateTime or EndDateTime leave them both blank and your record will be processed by the condition Noodleface.
