Plings Web Visualisation uses maps - currently Google Maps by default and Open Street Map as an option

OpenStreetMap

We use Open Street Maps because we like the philosophy, like the idea of users being able to generate maps that are useful to them, and they're just cool.

OpenSpace

Of interest at the moment is: http://openspace.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/openspace/ from the Ordnance Survey people.

OpenLayers

Google Maps and Open Street Map can both be visualised on OpenLayers maps - this is how we got the OpenStreetMap working. OpenSpace is a version of OpenLayers. Perhaps all 3 can be combined?
